Become a Guide in the Hide at Seaton Wetlands
Share your passion for wetland birds and help visitors discover the incredible wildlife at Seaton Wetlands.
Many visitors to Seaton Wetlands are keen to learn more about the birds they spot from the hides. During our bi-weekly Guide in the Hide sessions, volunteers help to bring the world of wetland birds to life by sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm.
What you’ll do:
- Point out and help identify birds seen from the hide
- Share interesting facts and insights about the species you can see
- Set up and assist visitors in using a scope and binoculars
What We’re Looking For:
- A keen interest in wetland birds and a desire to keep learning
- Confidence in engaging with visitors of all ages and sharing your enthusiasm
- An interest in being outdoors and supporting conservation efforts
Why Volunteer with Us?
- Flexible Shifts: Sign-up for shifts from 11am to 1pm to suit your schedule.
- Team Support: You’ll volunteer in pairs whenever possible, ensuring a friendly and supportive environment. Volunteers have the chance to get together at our popular volunteer socials.
- Training Provided: Volunteers are provided with an induction and are offered training throughout the year. A fleece, polo shirt and name badge are also provided.
- Make a Difference: Help inspire others to connect with nature and protect our precious wildlife.
