Contribute to Conservation Efforts on a Corporate Volunteer Day

Unplug from the office and reconnect your team with nature with a hands-on, day out in the countryside.

Looking for a unique way to strengthen team bonds while doing something meaningful? A Corporate Volunteer Day with East Devon District Council’s Countryside Team is the perfect way to give back, get outdoors, and make a real difference.

What You’ll Do:

Your team will take part in a range of seasonal, practical conservation tasks such as:

  • Hedge laying
  • Habitat restoration and wildlife-friendly land management
  • Construction projects
  • Plus, many more tasks that leave a visible legacy on our reserves

Why Volunteer with Us?

East Devon District Council’s Countryside Team manages 11 stunning nature reserves and 19 miles of the South West Coast Path. The small Countryside has big ambitions for biodiversity and sustainability, and we rely on volunteers to help us protect and enhance these precious spaces.

And it’s not just good for the environment—corporate volunteering is proven to boost team morale, employee engagement, and workplace wellbeing. Over 80% of participants report feeling happier and more connected after a volunteer day.

 How It Works?

  • Flexible Scheduling: Choose from half-day or full-day session at one of our nature reserves, tailored to your team and the nature reserve need at the time.
  • Hands-On Guidance: Your team will be led and supported by our Countryside Rangers throughout the day.
  • Everything Provided: We’ll take care of the tools, induction, PPE, and safety briefing—you just bring the team and the energy!
  • Make a Difference: Contribute directly to the care of local nature reserves and enjoy a rewarding, outdoor team-building experience.

How to Get Involved:

If you’re ready to join us, email wild@eastdevon.gov.uk and one of the team will get in touch with you to arrange a Corporate Volunteering Day for your team.

Help us to protect East Devon's Nature Reserves for both people and wildlife.

''At Xylem we have a culture of volunteerism. Our colleagues value our responsibility to give back to the local community by supporting groups and organisations like Wild East Devon who recognise how vital it is to create a sustainable environment for communities and the natural habitat. Through volunteering we see the incredible impact it has on our communities and our sense of well-being offering positive team building, personal growth and raising an awareness amongst employees of the global water challenges that are happening locally.

''Watermark is Xylem’s social responsibility programme and our mission is to provide and protect safe water resources for communities around the world alongside educating people about water issues.''
